Summary of Current Event:

Our August luncheon was a HUGE SUCCESS!  We had a record turnout for our first luncheon in the
north area of Charlotte.  We also had lots of goodies from Farmo, an Italian gluten-free
manufacturer, brought to us by Philip Gentlesk of Midlantic Consulting, LLC.

Record Turnout!
Our group has grown very fast in a short time and Leslie asked me to consider a meeting up north.
So, it was time to give it a try.  I just never expected to have such a large turnout; we had close to
50 people!  We also had quite a few children attend which was very special.  Going forward, we will
make sure to include the north area in our rotation.

Carrabba’s
Although Carrabbas is a regular dining place for us, this was the first time at the Huntersville
location.  Marci, the manager, was wonderful and very accommodating for our large group.  Marci was
very knowledgeable about the gluten-free diet and was able to suggest the perfect GF sauce for our
Farmo pasta.  Marci also made sure we had sufficient servers to help with our large crowd.  All our
attendants were wonderful and took extra care with our orders.  They were thoughtful, considerate
and very pleasant.  As always, there are lots of gluten-free meals to choose from and so many rich in
delicious sauces.  Thank you Marci and everyone at the Huntersville location for making us feel right
at home!

Farmo Italian Gluten-Free Products
Phil, Midlantic Consulting, brought us a taste of Italy!  Phil is working with the Italian food
manufacturer, Farmo, to bring their gluten-free products to the United States.  Phil and Farmo were
most generous by providing us with lots of different types of pasta to try as an appetizer.  Although,
it was more than an appetizer since so many us were getting full the many bowls of pasta passed
around.  We also had lots of breadsticks and cookies to try as well.  Everything was wonderful and
beyond words!  I knew this before our luncheon when Phil sent me a bag of the classic biscotti cookies
to try.  I ate the entire bag in two days.  The cookies are far above any I have tasted to date and can
hardly wait for Farmo to saturate the market.  Phil also had gift bags of Farmo products for everyone
to take home.

Focus Group -  Phil will be conducting a focus group to test various Farmo products soon.  I will be
sending out another note to ask for participants; although, we had quite a few people already sign-
up.   A limited number of people needed for the group but details will follow.

Grazie Phil and Farmo for the delicious pasta, breadsticks and cookies, and,
for making our afternoon Perfetto!

Thank You Leslie and Elise
A special thank you to Les and daughter, Elise, for making pound cake and sharing with everyone.  It
was so thoughtful and everyone bragged about it (Gluten-Free 1-2-3 mix). I have made this brand
before and it is one of the best.  A must try!

Closing
Everyone had a wonderful time and thank you all for coming and sharing information.  Next month we
will be going to PF Changs and may have the Farmo focus group.  Kris brought a copy of the
Cheeseburger in Paradise Gluten-Free menu so we will be planning to go there soon (Oct. or Nov.)!

Have a great month!  Warm Regards, Janet
