May's Luncheon

Our next luncheon, at Outback Steakhouse, will be in 2 weeks (RSVP by Thurs. 5/15) and the details are provided
below.  Also, I will have samples of the French Meadow Bakery items for everyone to try AND Trader Joe's has given
us lots of gluten-free granola!

Hopefully, we will have a great turnout to share summer ideas, celebrate with all the goodies and whatever else is
going on.  Hope you can make it!

CFCR Donation Reminder:  This is my final reminder asking you to contribute to Dr. Fasano's annual walk.  The
web-site will be up for quite some time so there's no immediate worry.  I will leave the link up on our home page for
a while longer.   Thank you very much to all of you who have already contributed to our cause :)

Warm Regards, Janet

Trader Joe's - Apparently someone on a regional level over ordered the gluten-free granola mix.  Thus, Trader
Joes has donated tons of granola 12 oz packages to our support group.  I will split the donation between the May
(Fruit & Nut) and June (Tropical Forest) luncheons.  Believe me there is a lot, so I can almost guarantee every
person with celiac will get at least one (12 oz) if not more :)  Jim Chappell, the manager of the University store is
wonderful and, remember from my earlier note, Bill Coughlin, our member works there part-time was very kind in
linking me up with Jim.  Both gentlemen will be happy to help you navigate around their store and can give you a list
of gluten-free items when you arrive.  I have bought the Tropical Forest granola before and it's fantastic!

French Meadow Bakery (Rich Products Corp.) - I was contacted by a representative from Rich headquarters as
well as the Southeastern Regional Manager, Michael Bradshaw.  They would like us to try some of their gluten-free
bakery items.  I have confirmed with them that their products are made in a dedicated facility, tested monthly, all
items used are certified gluten-free, and the French Meadow products are labeled "gluten-free."  They have started
offering these gluten-free products in one Lowes store [

huge hit at our April luncheon!
