Other Resources Available
There are so many great and helpful web-sites for celiacs...
and the momentum and energy is high to make the celiac life easier and to find a cure!
National & International Support Organizations
Although diagnosed Celiac has been around for over 60 years, it is not well known in the USA.  Local support groups have
grown into larger national groups (here and beyond the pond).  These groups are not only supporting us but they are also
working hard to make our condition a household name.  Also, a huge
thank you to Bill Gates for his ingeniousness in
making the web accessible to us all!  My first understanding of celiac and information gathering all took place here on the
web.  Now,  we can connect with others anywhere...

Medical & Research Sites
Our medical community is making major inroads and advances are happening daily. There are medical and research
groups improving diagnostic tests and researching cures as well as educating our physicians everywhere.  It was a study
conducted by Dr. Alessio Fasano that identified celiac is as prevalent here in the US as it is in Europe and, now, he is very
close to discovering a cure.

Local Support Groups Throughout the Country
Although you may live in Charlotte NC, you can learn so much from other support groups. After my diagnosis, it was the
Michigan Support Group's web-site that helped me tremendously.  I was able to read through their archives of data from
past meetings and figure out what celiac meant. So it is so important for you to continue to learn about your condition.
Other support groups can help you as well..

Gluten-Free Products & Miscellaneous Items
We are very fortunate to be living in the current times.  We have a large selection of online stores that primarily cater to
our gluten-free needs.  I made it through my first year, after diagnosis, ordering from online stores.  I found everything I
needed online and orders came within a few days.
